Goodbye Kordi! Friday Nov 28, 2008

Friday we gave Kordi to a wonderful couple from Rigby. They seemed to fall in love with her at first sight. She liked them too. We will continue to get updates on Kordi, but she isn't our baby anymore. That night, we were grieving her. Here are some picks of our Kordi.

Brenden Foster's last wish

I recently found this video of a young chubby faced boy, and had to watch it regarding his last wish. Brenden Foster was an eleven year old boy who wanted nothing more than to help people. I must say this little boy brought out a big part of my heart, and I wanted to share this with you. If only we all could be this way, as to being able to help our fellow man, as we are supposed to do. I simply ask that you please look beyond yourself this holiday season, and help those who are less fortunate. I know I will be doing more to help out.

Root canal.....no fun!

I had a root canal on Friday. It hurts so freaking bad. I feel like someone is punching me repeatedly in the jaw! I am having to take Steroids to help it heal, which make me throw up a half hour after I take them....every time.....and am on hydrocodone for the pain, which makes me loopy. Thanks to my wonderful husband, who is helping me so very much this weekend. I love him dearly. Hopefully I will be off the meds so I can enjoy Thanksgiving with my wonderful in-laws in Soda! I'm so excited!

So what.....They're just Pitbulls!

So, I want to use this blog as a sounding off board, and am sorry if I ramble in this new post, but this is something I am very passionate about.

Yesterday, I was reading the news on Yahoo.com, when I came across a story about Miami Dolphin Joey Porter defending Michael Vick.....Seriously, why would anyone defend a cruel individual like Vick.
During an interview, Porter made the following comments: When asked if Vick deserves to play again, Porter stood behind the embattled quarterback. ''He's already been punished enough,'' Porter said. ``They gave him his penalty, and he's paying his penalty. What else should they do to him now?''
Seriously? how can someone defend such an inhumane person? These dogs are beautiful, and if they are not treated with the respect a pet should, then they as any other animal will turn on people. they were bread to be fighters, but they don't have to be anymore. I am very upset at the comments Porter made, because it makes it sound like it should be okay for anyone to get away with hurting a pet, and be able to do whatever they want afterwards.
Yes, Vick was sentenced to a specific amount of time to spend in Jail, and a certain amount of a fine, however, why should he be able to play professional football. Professional Football players have a responsibility since they are in the lime light, they have young men and women looking up to them, if they get away with crimes like this, and are able to come back to the sport, then what does that teach young people today, that there aren't real consequences for your actions? In this Yahoo.com article, it says that Vick is scheduled for release in July following a 23-month sentence, and reportedly has attorneys who believe he will be reinstated to play in the NFL once he has fulfilled that time. I truly hope and pray that the people in charge of the NFL will not let this man come back to football. This truly makes me ill to think that he will be able to make millions of $, after causing so many animals tremendous pain.
In the article, Porter also goes to say "they are just pit bulls, so what?" Porter, an owner of two pit bulls himself, said he doesn't understand why people are so quick to condemn Vick. Porter contends those same people who are against Vick don't often like pit bulls anyway. ''That's the funny thing about it,'' Porter said. ``If you want to get back on that topic, I've got pit bulls and I've got to put them under a different breed just to travel. You can't even fly pit bulls anywhere." This is like saying that if Vick raped a hooker, then so what she's just a hooker? No, it doesn't work that way. Being a loving dog owner, I am so hurt by the comments of Joey porter, and hope and pray that Vick will not be allowed back into the NFL.

1 more puppy gone, and possibly goodbye to 1 more this week

We said good bye to our last baby girl. She found a home with a very nice couple, with a young boy. She fell asleep in his arms as he held her deciding on which puppy he wanted. We will miss her. The other puppy that may be going we call "Bully" because he likes to stand over the other puppies and show them who the boss is.
Trevor decided to keep one of the puppies and give away Doyle and Kordi. It is possible that Kordi and Doyle may have a new home this week as well, because I found a couple that is looking for a fully grown dog. I will keep you updated on the news.

Goodbye to 3 puppies!

I posted the puppies on Craigslist.com, and we got several calls about them, and we gave away 3 of them. We had a hard time saying good bye, but I know they will be happy in both the homes. 2 boys went with the same couple, and 1 little girl went with a family who already has a dog, and some cats, so she will be happy too. Yesterday the puppies turned 6 weeks old, and for the milestone, we took them outside for the first time. I think they liked it. Some of them just fell asleep in my lap after a few minutes, but some enjoyed to play around. Here are some pics of the wonderful event.

What a week!

This week has been so crazy! I have been off all week, because I got the cold Trevor has been fighting, and then I had an absessed tooth! How horible! I ended up having to start a root canal on Monday.....now I have to wait until next thursday to finish it! One word......OUCHIE!!!! I have been on Vicodin since Monday, and am still in pain, so the dr said to add advil to the mix, and it should help! We will see. When we started at the dr's office, I couldn't gett numb, so I felt everything, which agrivated the nerves in my mouth, so they are all swollen and junk.

Trevor is doing good at work. He is going back up to Rexburg starting Monday, so that will be nice, he likes to work up there more. He also had a good week, because Call of Duty 5 (world at war), a game for the ps3 that he can play online with Cody and Travis. It is a fun game, I haven't had a chance to play this one yet, but I loved cod4, so I'm sure I will like this one too.

We gave our Jeep to my sister, so we are back to one vehicle again. We're not too frustrated, or worried about it, because I can work from home, and less insurance payments, so you know, its all good.

The puppies are getting big. they are 6 weeks old this week, so they are ready to get new homes. I'm going to go to Walmart, and probably KMart this coming week and try to get rid of a few. If you know someone who is looking for a puppy, please let me know. We will miss them, but not the poop! :)

Here are some pictures of the little ones.

Yes We Can!!! Welcome President Obama

Its time for change, and our country heard the cry. We went out in enormous numbers yesterday and did what I had hoped and prayed for. We elected President Barack Obama! We will see change, it will happen. Thru the tears of joy Trevor and I shed last night, we were able to see the light of change coming.

It won't be a pretty, or easy route, but we will get there. Like in life we need to follow the winding road to get to where we want to be. It very seldom is there for us just because we will it to be.

I am very thankful to call myself an American. To watch the news and see the lines of people who waited in line for 4 hours to cast their votes. For the 108 year old woman who went to the poles herself to cast her vote, because she had that right. For the millions of young people between the ages of 18 and 29 who went out to vote...Trevor and I included. It is difficult to convince our generation that it is our duty as American Citizens to make our voices heard.

I am very proud of Senator McCain's speech last night. It made me see that even though he lost the race, he had a clear mind to see the bigger picture, and that we are all a team. Hearing the boos from his crowd was very disheartening. Sore losers I guess.

For those of you who voted for John McCain........Thank you for your votes, Thank you for being apart of Democracy. Remember..... Barack Obama is your President too.

President Obama will listen to your concerns as he will listen to ours. We will need to work together for the change we want to see.

My fellow Americans.........I urge you to remember we live in a Democracy, and are free to believe what we want to believe, and are free to vote for who we want to win. We are free to also have our own opinions on everything and anything in our world today.

In conclusion, I just want to say that we can come together as a country and strive toward the future undivided, and to stand underneath our flag hand in hand, and embrace a world of change. I urge you to look inside your hearts and see that we are all the same deep down, we all want and need a better country, we want and need change.

Thank you,
Vicky Ann!

Have you made a choice yet? The clock is ticking!

I know I'm late at posting this, but who knows, maybe its not too late for some of you. Have you made your choice? do you know who you are voting for, or have you made the decision to vote at all? Regardless of your decision on a candidate, I believe you should vote. This is our right to let our voices be heard, so get out there and vote.

As for me, I have made my decision of 2008! BARACK OBAMA! I believe he is the right choice if we want true change in our country. I know I need it here in podunk Idaho! Obama will bring about change due to his political views, and simply by breaking ground in history.

I am very thankful to see Obama running for President he has made me believe in change. He has inspired me, to get involved in my country, and not just sit here and let others make the decision for me. Everyone Bitches about our country, and saying things need to change, but everyone is afraid to stand up and yell it over the roof tops. I'm not anymore, so here I am sitting here wearing my Pink Obama 08 T, and very thankful to be an American, where I know I'm free to make my own choices, and live my life.

CHANGE is needed.... My husband has been laid off for 1.5 months, and so far in 2008, he has been laid off about 8 times. He is apart of our local IBEW (electrical union). and has worked for 9 contractors over the past 11 months. That is insane. Trevor has been an Electrician for 7 years, and during the first 6 years he was only laid off twice. the longest term being a week.

It takes several years for us to see the impact of our President. We won't see change right away, however, if you look at our economy now, and Bush has been president for 8 years. That is truly showing his impact on our country.

I have had people tell me they can't believe I have the beliefs in politics that I do, and can still be LDS. May I remind you that this very statement is why it is so GREAT that we live in AMERICA. I have the oportunity to believe in my religion, and have views politically too. I am so very thankful that I can do that.

As I said earlier, you don't have to agree with me, but I still think you should vote. So, go out there, and make your voice heard.
