Sad times....

On Saturday December 19th, my dad passed away. He had a massive heart-attack in his sleep. This past week has been quite difficult for my brothers and me. I spent the first part of the week in Rexburg/Rigby helping out with arrangements, and on Wednesday we held the funeral. In July we will have another memorial when we place the headstone, and spread his ashes.

My relationship with my father had been a hard one over the last few years. Most of you who read my blog know why, however, for those who don't, I'll put it simply...My dad made some rotten choices in his life, and didn't change his ways until the last few months. I hadn't spoken to, or seen my father in the last 2 years.

I wish that I could talk to him one last time, just to let him know that I forgive him, and I love him very much. I wish I wouldn't have held so much hate in my heart towards him, however, we all have our regrets, and mine are a lot smaller than his were. I was told how much he was changing the last few months before his death. He was finally sober, and looking to try and make things somewhat right.

I am proud of my father. That he finally realized things needed to change, and he was willing to try to do it. I'm very thankful that he was able to show so many people the new Victor.

Dad, I love you very much, and want you to know that I forgive you, and will always remember the good times we had as a family.

I read a poem at the funeral, and I would like to share it now.....

Not Good-bye, but see you later...

Dressed in the color black

Celebrating one's new Journey

Tears stream down my face

Burning from the sorrow

Of the words Good-bye.

Higher, higher, push me higher

On the swings we played

And hugs and kisses we shared.

Now at your grave

Knowing your not there

But standing beside me

Watching over me, waiting

Till the day we meet again.

So, Its not good-bye, but see you later.

As you walk away, I hear you say

"Sweet Dreams my Queenie"

And I say

"I love you Daddy, see you later."

I want to thank everyone for the thoughts and prayers that have been sent to my family. We all appreciate each and every one of them. This is a hard road to start on, after losing a loved one, however, as we have been told many times....It will get easier. And, we simply need to remember that we will see him again one day.

Well, it is officially the Holiday Season! We just got through Thanksgiving, and it was a lot of fun!

Trevor got off early on Wednesday, and Travis and him went to Idaho Falls shopping (weird I know). And, he bought me a video camera that I have been wanting for quite a while now.

We ended up going over to Travis and Sunshine's for the big feast this year. We even tried our hand at frying the turkey. It turned out very yummy. Trevor's dad, Ben, his wife, and their daughter Melinda joined us. We all ate too much, but didn't regret a single bite.

On the day after Thanksgiving, Travis, Sunshine, and I convinced Trevor to go shopping with us! We went to Wal-mart at 4:30am, and bought 9 Blu Ray movies, for 10$ each, and 4 DVDs for 2$ each! We also got some comfy pillows, and comforters from Fred Meyer.

Now, Trevor is supposed to be working 24 days in a row, 10 hour days due to deadlines at his job. We are very excited to have some extra cash, but I really would rather have my hubby home.

We haven't made any plans for Christmas this year. We might end up just staying home, and enjoying relaxing like we were forced to do last year. We will see.

I hope all of you have a very safe, and happy holiday season! I know I'll give you some heads ups on here, and I might even add a few video blogs as well!

Love you all.

Virgin River Gorge....(Beaver Dam AZ Cont....)

The Virgin River Gorge is absolutely gorgeous!
Did you know that it is a fault line that has a river going through it?
The stretch of I15 that runs through the Gorge cost an estimated $17Million/mile to build!
Insane I tell you, INSANE!!!
I drove through it in the dark on our way, so we decided to go on a little sight seeing adventure, and take a few amazing pictures along the way!

First off, this is a picture of the Mouth of the gorge. it looks small, but let me tell you its not!

This is a picture of part of it too...

To the right, is a picture looking out over it.

Another example of it! I was amazed at the beauty!

And, the Irony of it all.....an I15 sign along a dirt road with nothing but mountains to see!

A gorgeous view over looking the gorge, with a forest of Joshua Trees!

Beaver Dam Arizona / Mesquite Nevada

Last week I went to Beaver Dam with my mom and Marlin.
We had a lot of fun, and I was lucky to be able to see a whole new part of the USA!
And....can I mention that it was 65-69 degrees!
Here at home, it didn't top 40!
Even if I mom and I navigated Salt Lake City traffic ourselves....

(Eyes shut for humorous purposes only)

Mom drove us through Salt Lake, even tho she hates driving in traffic....

She did AWESOME!!!! Here I am climbing on a big rock!

And....the lizard that tried to eat us....I SWEAR!

Me....Standing next to a huge sink hole!

A wonderful view of the Joshua Trees forest...

I must say....the Joshua Trees probably were my favorite!

And a chula cactus....

not much to blog over....

We haven't had much going on in the last couple weeks.....We've been sick...big surprise there...Fairly certain we had the swine flu. Didn't go to the doctor, however, my sis in law went in and got the test, and found out she did, and we were together a bit, so there you go.....Anyways, we are still a little sick from it, but on the mending end....

We've had some issues with our car, and stuff, but got new tires, and some things fixed on it...guess its time to think of trading in....

We are getting ready for the holidays, I suppose.... I'm going to be working on some crafts, and will be posting them onto my other blog, and will let you all know when I do....

I also vow to find something good to blog about here soon....

I think mom likes to be reminded of her other home in Arizona!

Below, are two pictures of some of the many awesome rocks she has found over the years....

This is my momma, and her man(Marlin).
They are so cute together!!!!

29...not so bad....so far....

Well folks....today I turned 29! Yup....I'm that old....
the last bday in my 20's..
and, I gotta tell you...
it doesn't feel so bad....
Granted, last night, I did have a freak out moment,
when I realized I was getting close to 40..11 years...
That's close....its less than half my life to that age....

Another realization...

Trevor and I will be older parents... Which, isn't that bad.

But, my mom was 40 when I graduated high school!!!!

WOWZERS!!!!

Enough talk of oldness....I'm not even 30 yet!!! What do I have to be so worried about!

I hope this last year of my 20's is as good as my past years!!!!

Thanks to all my friends and family for sticking with me through my nutty moments!
